1INGRiD (Intersecting Grounds of Discrimination in Italy): Project INGRiDINGRiD’s priority is to address discrimination using an intersectional approach. In Italy, there are many actors involved in fighting discrimination. However, most focus on single factors such as gender, sexual orientation, nationality, skin colour, religious beliefs, etc. – all components which, together with others, form the complex identity of each of us. This approach does not fully acknowledge the amplified impact of the “intersection” of all these dimensions in creating dynamics of discrimination, exclusion, and oppression.INGRiD’s priority is to address discrimination using an intersectional approach. 6Fondazione MondinsiemeThe Mondinsieme Intercultural Center was born as a project of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia in the early 2000s and became a Foundation in 2010. Its central objectives include the promotion of intercultural and interreligious dialogue, active citizenship and the constant exchange and meeting between people of different origins, organized in associations, as well as between local, national and international bodies and institutions. The Centre works by building paths of inclusion and mutual empowerment, in the belief that knowledge and "doing together", in addition to preventing situations of cultural marginalisation and the formation of identity radicalisms, allow the evolution of an intercultural citizenship, capable of recognising the diversity advantage in its various areas.
